If you are copying a large amount of data and you have a SDHC->USB converter, try using it to see if it works faster than other methods of copying the files off the SD card.

My SD to USB converter works around twice as fast as the inbuilt SD card slot on my laptop. Same thing on a friends laptop (the SD to USB converter I have came with a SanDisk Extreme /// SDHC card I bought).
