I just noticed that very large files (I think over roughly 500MB) will not copy off the memory card if you are trying to transfer using the camera and usb cable.  What you will get is just a zero byte file even though you have the large file in tact on the memory card.

This is something I've seen a couple of times now and in the past just thought that it was a corrupt file or something where I hit record and stop at the same time and dismissed it.  Tonight I noticed a zero byte file among other files I had mass copied directly off the camera.  The difference was that I knew exactly which shot I was looking for and that this was the missing one.  I double checked on the camera in play mode and was able to play the file so it was fine.

I had to remove the memory card and copy the file through a USB card reader then it copied fine.

This is no big deal but an interesting discrepancy worth noting that I thought I'd share.  I know now that I've lost files now in the past when I formatted the card after doing a mass copy directly through the camera (assuming that all the files had copied fine).

I had the same problem when copy and paste large files from tx1, in windows explorer. But using Import Photos Menu ( menu found when right click on the camera icon, in explorer ) works for me.

I have also done this. All video of last year's vacation got scrubbed after I thought it all downloaded.
The wife was extremely upset with me. Sad
